“I worked with Courtney at the NC State College of Design. She was an amazing project manager—always one step ahead. She kept all of the grad programs up to speed and supported grad students as they moved through the College. She also did a fantastic job creating tools that grad directors could use to allay future issues. I highly recommend her.”

“Courtney interned in NC State's DASA Assessment office in an unpaid position. Her unique perspective and skill sets resulted in products that our office used for years after her departure. For example, Courtney developed a social media toolkit to promote our First Term Survey. Courtney was always willing to take on a new project and learn new skills. She had a positive attitude, was extremely creative, and was a team player. We were lucky to have her work in our office and I can highly recommend her!”

“In the fall of 2019, I had the opportunity to hire a graduate assistant to work with the NC State Poole College of Management undergraduate admissions team. Courtney Ray was selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants, and from day one she exceeded expectations. Her eagerness to learn was immediately evident, and within weeks she was confidently leading information sessions, training student leaders, and taking ownership of new initiatives. Courtney has a rare ability to quickly evaluate information, identify opportunities for improvement, and make thoughtful, data-informed decisions - skills that are impressive at any career stage.”

Bonnie
Supervisor for College Admissions GA role

“Courtney was fantastic to work with! Her designs were always gorgeous, thoughtful, and inclusive. I could always count on Courtney to speak up and express her thoughts, but also maintain an open-mind. She was a hard worker, fast learner, and always eager to help however she was needed. Courtney went out of her way to collaborate with people and was an active part of the Human Rights Campaign’s corporate culture. She lead designs for HRC’s HBCU programs and was a pivotal part of HRC’s many fundraising and activist endeavors. I know Courtney will succeed in anything she puts her mind to, and will do so with an incredible amount of empathy and dedication.”

BERLIN DESIGN BLOG (coming soon)

  • PUBLIC MEMORY

Germany has a deep history of conflict and resilience. We encountered many spaces that displayed major challenges of this country including the Berlin Wall, German Resistence Museum, and the Bundestag/Reichstag Building.

  • PRESERVING HISTORY

Undoubtable my favorite part of traveling to historic places is seeing all the art and architecture that has stood for hundreds of years. Much of the art and Architecture of Berlin has had to be rebuilt due to war.

  • TRANSPORTATION

From the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, Street Tram, and Bus, we were able to get anywhere in the large city within 30 min-1hr. I even took the S-Bahn all the way from Friedrichshain to Potsdam! Big shout out to Google Maps which made navigation effortless.

  • CREATIVE INTERVENTION

Berlin has a tremendous reputation for creative innovation. We found places that continue to push artistic expression.

  • CULINARY CULTURE

As a Gluten-Intolerant girlie, I traveled to Berlin knowing that I would not be able to eat a lot of the iconic German foods like Schnitzel and Doner Kebab. But I was not expecting the vast food options from numerous cultures and extensive vegan options.

  • STREET ART

It was everywhere! We went on an awesome tour where the guide explained street art culture in Berlin.
